If Ethernet is slower than Wi-Fi on the same PC, check the negotiated link speed first. A damaged cable, old port, driver issue or adapter setting can force the connection down to a slower speed.

Open your Ethernet adapter status in Windows and check the connection speed.
If you expect Gigabit Ethernet but Windows shows 100 Mbps, the cable, router port or network adapter is a strong suspect.
